HMO - amentment
The NLA on behalf of its members have finally made the Government rethink their policies in HMO’s As from 1st October it will no longer be compulsory to provide a washbasin in every room. It will be down to Local Authorities to implement this though in some cases it is likely they will be required.
It is important to understand that councils will still be able to ask for washbasins in every room but early reports show some council’s are probably going to relax this rule.
If landlords feel they are being asked to provide unnecessary equipment they can appeal to the Residential Property Tribunal.
